To tackle usability challenges, we embarked on a comprehensive redesign of the Cubii app. Starting with an in-depth UX audit, we evaluated user behaviors and interface usability, gathering insights from user feedback and interviews. This process pinpointed the need for clearer navigation and visual cues to accommodate our diverse user base, including older adults who benefit from straightforward interactions.
We reimagined the user interface to prioritize simplicity and accessibility. By refining the onboarding process and reducing the steps to achieve key tasks, we've made the app more approachable for users of varying technical skills and ages. Enhancements such as larger fonts, high-contrast colors, and intuitive icons improve readability and user interaction. The information architecture was reorganized to focus on frequently used features, allowing users to easily track workouts, set goals, and monitor their progress.
We also designed and developed a companion smartwatch app enabling users to engage with their fitness goals without their phones. Real-time metrics and progress updates are displayed on the watch, ensuring users can stay connected and monitor their fitness journey effortlessly.

Recognizing the importance of reliable device connectivity for a smooth fitness experience, our team tackled the technical challenges associated with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connections. We developed a robust BLE management system that effectively handles the nuances of various devices and operating systems, ensuring consistent and stable connectivity during workouts.
To enhance the interactive workout experience, we introduced engaging, real-time animations that mirror the user’s activities. These animations are designed to synchronize perfectly with the user’s pedaling, providing immediate visual feedback that makes workouts more enjoyable and motivating. To ensure these features perform well on all devices, including those with limited resources, we optimized the animations using lightweight JSON files and the Lottie framework, a technology known for enabling high-quality animations with minimal impact on performance.
This dual focus on connectivity and enriching user interactions through visual feedback has significantly improved the app's performance, making it a more reliable and engaging fitness companion.
To boost user engagement and create a more personalized fitness journey, we introduced "Communitii," an in-app platform designed to foster social interaction among Cubii users. This feature enables users to connect, share progress, and participate in group challenges, enhancing motivation through communal support and friendly competition. Additionally, we implemented a system of goals, badges, and leaderboards to gamify the fitness experience, making it fun and competitive.
Parallel to building a vibrant community, we harnessed deep learning to analyze user behavior and tailor the app to individual preferences. The predictive machine learning model personalizes goals and sends timely reminders or motivational messages, helping keep users engaged and encouraging regular activity.
Furthermore, we introduced live training sessions led by professional instructors, providing guided workouts that cater to various fitness levels and interests, thereby enriching the app’s value proposition and enhancing user satisfaction.
